We value the trust of visitors to our web site and we hope that our concerns regarding your privacy, as described in this notice (the "Privacy Notice" or "Notice"), demonstrate our commitment to making your experience on our web site a useful one.

Please note that by using our web site and all site-related products (collectively, the "Site"), you signify your agreement to this Privacy Notice. If you do not agree to this Notice, please do not use the Site. Your continued use of the Site subsequent to changes to this Notice will mean that you accept the changes; therefore, please bookmark this page and review it regularly. If you have any questions regarding this Privacy Statement, the Site, or CollegeLab, please e-mail us at CollegeLab@optonline.net.

I. Information That We Gather. Much of the Site does not require you to submit any "individually identifiable information" (information that relates to an identified individual). We may collect non-personally identifiable information in part through the use of "cookies," which are small text files placed on your computer's hard drive. We collect some basic information about your computer and Internet connections, including: (i) your IP address (your computer's unique signature); (ii) your operating system (e.g., Windows or Mac); (iii) your browser software (e.g., Netscape or Internet Explorer); (iv) your Internet Service Provider; (v) your geographic location (e.g., Colorado, NY.); (vi) your IP address. Collecting this information helps us enhance your experience on the Site - for instance, helping us identify system performance areas, determining technical design specifications, and assessing what Site information is of most or least interest.

II. Third Parties. The Site contains links to other third party web sites, none of which are owned, operated by, or affiliated with CollegeLab. You acknowledge that we do not monitor or control the information collection or privacy practices of these third parties, and are not responsible for their practices or the content of their web sites, including their use of any information (such as IP number, browser type, or operating system) collected through their use of cookies when visitors "click through" links from CollegeLab to their sites. Even though certain information collected by such third parties might not identify you personally, we strongly encourage you to become familiar with their privacy practices, and to contact such third parties if you have any questions about their respective privacy policies.
Additionally, when purchasing any products on third party web sites, user information is sent to a third party for billing verification purposes.

III. How We Use (And Do Not Use) The Information We Gather. Below are some of the ways we use the information we gather. CollegeLab cannot and does not assume any responsibility for any actions or omissions of third parties, including the manner in which they use information either from CollegeLab or independently.
(a) Non-individually identifiable information. We use non-individually identifiable information in aggregate form to build a higher quality, more useful Site by performing statistical analyses of the collective characteristics and behavior of our visitors, and by measuring demographics and interests regarding specific areas of the Site. We may provide statistical information based on this data to advertisers and other current and potential business partners.

IV. Where We Collect Information. CollegeLab collects information from users in the following areas of the Site:

(a) Our Bookstore. In this area, visitors may purchase any of a number of books, software products or services (collectively, the "Products") from third parties. Visitors are likely to be asked to enter personally identifiable information online, such as name, address, email address, and other personal information relating to the visitor's purchase of any of the Products.

V. Weblog. CollegeLab does not, but may in the future, make a discussion forum available to its visitors in the form of a Weblog (the "Weblog"). Please remember that any information that is disclosed in this area becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information. Please read section VI, below, to learn about how we treat the use of our discussion forum by children under the age of 13. To maintain the standards of the Site, CollegeLab will monitor, read and reserves the right to edit all messages posted to the Weblog.

VI. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act. The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act and Rule (collectively, "COPPA") apply to the online collection of individually identifiable information from children under 13. Under COPPA, CollegeLab is required to obtain parental consent for the collection, use, and disclosure of individually identifiable information of children under the age of 13. CollegeLab believes in safeguarding the privacy of children's individually identifiable information and makes every effort to comply with the rules and requirements set forth in COPPA. CollegeLab's Site does not target children under the age of 13, although some children under the age of 13 may also be attracted to the Site. The individually identifiable information that is collected online is for the purpose of supporting our Services, which are services for parents and students who want to apply to educational institutions. Children under the age of 13 may provide individually identifiable information in the following areas of the Site:

(a) Contact Details. In this area, visitors may fill in the online contact form and send us comments or questions about the Site, our Services, or any education-related or other comments or questions. No individually identifiable information about children under the age of 13 is requested.

Any Weblogs hosted now or in the future on the Site will not be available for use by children under the age of 13. By posting messages on the discussion forum, a user acknowledges that he or she is over the age of 13. To maintain the standards of the Site and the discussion forum, however, CollegeLab reserves the right to monitor and read all messages posted to the discussion forum. If we discover that a child under the age of 13 has posted messages to the Weblogs, we will delete all messages posted by that child and all messages posted by other discussion forum users in reply to that child's postings.

Parents have the option to agree to the collection and use of their child's personal information without agreeing to the disclosure of the information to third parties. However, when a parent agrees to the collection and use of their child's personal information, CollegeLab may still release that information to others who use it solely to provide support for the internal operations of the Site or other services, including technical support, Services, and order fulfillment.

At a parent's request, CollegeLab will disclose the general kinds of personal information we collect online from children under the age of 13, as well as the specific information collected from their child who visited the Site. Before disclosing this information, though, CollegeLab verifies the parent's identity by obtaining a signed form, notarized by a notary public, from the parent via postal mail.

Please write to us if you have any questions or comments in reference to a child who is under the age of 13, regarding: (i) your agreement to the collection and use of your child's personal information without agreeing to the disclosure of the information to third parties; (ii) your request that CollegeLab disclose to you the specific information we have collected from your child; (iii) your revocation of parental consent allowing CollegeLab to use or collect your child's personal information; or (iv) your belief in good faith that individually identifiable information has been collected without the appropriate parental consent. Letters or notices with respect to the above-mentioned issues, or any other issues related to your child's privacy on this Site, should be sent to CollegeLab Inc., 30 High Street, Rye, New York, 10580, U.S.A., CollegeLab@optonline.net.

VII. Communication With Users. CollegeLab communicates with users of the Site, primarily through electronic mail, relating to CollegeLab's products or Services or other services. CollegeLab may also communicate with users of the Site who have indicated that they are willing to share information about their educational experiences.

VIII. Contacting The Web Site. If you have any questions or comments about this Privacy Notice, the practices of this Site, or your dealings with this Site, please contact: CollegeLab@optonline.net.
